Job Description:
The University of Toledo, College of Medicine and Life Sciences is looking for a full time support staff to join our team. This individual must possess excellent organizational and communication skills, ability to function individually with minimum daily directions from supervisor and multitask daily. The Administrative Assistant 1 position will provide essential support to ensure efficient operation of the Department of Orthopedic- Surgery and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. This role involves a variety of administrative tasks, including coordinating correspondence, scheduling meetings, assisting the Chairman, faculty, Department Administrator and Assistant to the chairman with daily activities. Adherence to all The University of Toledo and University of Toledo Medical Center policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or associate Degree required (significant administrative experience may be considered in lieu of degree)
• Three or more years’ office management experience preferred, especially in academic.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Adobe Acrobat Professional; Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher and scheduling in Outlook).
• Strong organizational skills and attention to details.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology preferred.
• Previous experience in Orthopaedic and or PM&R office practices in the academic setting preferred.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
• Have must a welcoming and professional demeanor towards all learners, faculty, Visitors and other co-workers.
